How do I apply for halls in Clearing?

Once you have firmly accepted your place to study here, our student housing team will email you an invite to apply for accommodation. You'll receive this within 24 hours of accepting your place.

Any available hall places are allocated in order of accommodation application receipt, subject to availability â€“ so the sooner you confirm that you will be coming to ·ÆÂɱöÁùºÏ²Ê, the more likely you are to get one of your preferred choices of accommodation.

We'll let you know the outcome of your halls application within 2–3 working days.

If you'd like to know the latest availability of rooms in halls please get in touch with our student housing team.

Do you have affordable student accommodation?

Yes, our newly refurbished Langstone Flats and Trust Halls offer low rent and a dedicated term-time bus service. Just a short walk from the outstanding beauty of Langstone Harbour and Milton Common, these halls offer modern facilities and an on-site laundrette.

Do I have to live in halls?

Not at all, if you wish to live in private rented accommodation you can! There are usually students in shared accommodation looking to fill an extra room.

Your private rented options include:

  • Shared rental accommodation (a house or flat)
  • Solo rental accommodation (a house, flat or studio flat)
  • Lodging with a local resident

How can I find private rented accommodation?

The University has its own search engine to help you find your Clearing accommodation in the private sector if you're not going to live in halls. It's called Studentpad, and every house, flat, lodging and private hall listed on it is officially registered with our Student Housing team.

Using Studentpad means that you can:

  • Rent from registered landlords who follow our code of conduct
  • Find other housemates
  • Search according to your budget
  • Use our search tool to search in specific areas

Whether you decide to live in halls or in private rented accommodation we offer the same 24/7 welfare advice and support to all new students.

Can I speak to anyone about accommodation?

Of course, our friendly student housing team are happy to help with any queries.
